Format for Second Half of the 2025/26 Season
In order to generate more interest from the teams lower down the ladder, the match committee has decided to experiment with a change of format for the final 4 matches, commencing on 4th February 2026.
There are 30 teams in the competition with points accumulated in the first 7 matches ranging from 14 at the top to 2 at the bottom. Historically, this wide divide between top and bottom teams tends to reduce interest for the lower teams and attendance can suffer. So, in order to overcome this:
EVERY TEAM IS IN WITH A CHANCE TO WIN BECAUSE
EVERY TEAM HAS SUFFICIENT POINTS IN THEIR DIVISION TO GIVE THEM A FIGHTING CHANCE
OF BEING IN A GRAND FINAL – IF THEY PLAY WELL ENOUGH!
Here is the ladder after round 7
- The current ladder has been split into 3 divisions of 10 teams, The top 10 on the ladder, the middle 10 on the ladder and the last 10 on the ladder.
- Each team will retain the points that were accumulated so far, hence, team 1 will start top of Div1, team 11 will start top of Div 2 and Team 21 will start top of Div 3.
- The rest of the teams will retain their position relative to the top team in their division. See the divisions on this web page.
- For the FIRST 3 matches, the draw will be arranged so that teams in each division ONLY play another team in the same division.
- There will be 3 weekly prizes as we will ONLY give prizes to the winning team in each division, and not the runners up as before.
- There will also be 3 mystery consolation prizes each week drawn from the 9 non-winners in each division.
- The top two teams in each division at the end of week 11, (18th Feb) will play each other in their divisional Grand Final on 25th Feb.
- There will be prizes for the winners and the runners up of each grand final.
- The rest of the 8 teams in each division will play a final round of 8 ends (so they can watch the completion of the finals).
- The best scores across the rest of the 3 divisions will earn the weekly winner’s prizes, plus the mystery prize for non-winners.
The Ladders are sorted on cumulative Points, 2 (win), 1 (draw), 0 (loss) then on Shots Up.
‘Shots Up’ is the cumulative difference showing shots scored Less shots against – this can be negative.
The Weekly Results tables are sorted purely on Shots Up on the day.
The weekly Winning Teams are rewarded with drink vouchers from the bar.
